Démi is a food and health engineer, a graduate of UniLaSalle specialising in health prevention: microbiology, metabolic biology, physiology and nutrition. Before that she earned a degree in physics and chemistry with honours from Université Côte d’Azur, on the Valrose campus in Nice.

That dual background — life sciences on one side, physics and chemistry on the other — maps precisely onto the scope of French SVT and physical sciences at secondary level. She has completed extensive laboratory work: analytical chemistry, solution chemistry, mechanics, electromagnetism and molecular biology techniques.

She is from the area: she took her baccalaureate at Lycée Saint-Joseph in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and has been tutoring at home since 2016. She knows the local schools and the expectations of the French curriculum.

In lessons she works extensively on reading documents: a graph, a table, a diagram. The aim is for the student to separate what they observe from what they infer, and then build an answer that holds together.

What they bring to a student

Biology and earth sciences

Trained as a life-sciences engineer: microbiology, physiology, nutrition and metabolic biology.

Physics and chemistry

A full undergraduate degree, with the laboratory work that comes with it.

Reading documents

Separating observation from interpretation: the skill that SVT papers actually assess.
